alternative to Cloudflare
CloudFlare is different from Amazon’s CDN service Cloudfront. For more information on Cloudfront click here.
Four on-demand CDN plans are available and ready for purchase on the CloudFlare website. The company does not charge for overages, and clients are not billed for bandwidth. The free tier includes a CloudFlare issued SSL certificate, and ‘fast site performance’. Performance and features improve as the tiers go up, and so does the price per month.
Until the $200 per month plan, CloudFront does not give an uptime guarantee. Additionally, running with CloudFlare alone risks your CDN becoming a single-point-of-failure (SPOF): if their network goes down or performs poorly, so will your site.
As opposed to CloudFlare, Warpcache provides a 100% uptime guarantee for every customer, regardless of their monthly bill. On top of that, in a multi-CDN setup, clients are assured of a Plan B (or C, or D!) in case a CDN provider’s performance drops.
